W220 S500L 2000 UK HeadRests

The rear headrests drop down when the down button is pressed but do not come up when the up part is pressed. Any ideas?

I assume it the same on all Mercs, both my e class that I have had operate the same way. The switch is to drop them only

Basicaly there are two types...

I have looked at a few S Class's, if the button has a picture of the rests with arrow up and down they should drop and come back up. One I looked at did both. Others mainly the none LWB just drop and have top be pulled up by hand. Unless the switch has been changed for one with the picture for both but its only drop...

I've been through the fuses to look for blown ones...none. Is there any relays that are involved?
Any diagrams?

I have a 99 W220 when the Down button is pressed all Three drop, when the up button is pressed the centre rest stays down the Two outers come up, Reading the owners manual this is how it should be.
I know this does not solve your problem but that is the correct sequence they should work according to the manual.

Thats great, thanks...I know one I looked at sent them down and brought them up and another I looked at only sent them down.

Not wanting to brag...well much anyway... but mine as far as I know has every extra apart from, TV module (would not work now anyway), Fridge in arm rest and blinds on rear doors..

So, they go down but nothing happens when you tell them to come back up...
What things do I need to check?
Is there a way of getting to the machanic of it all under the rear shelf, fuses, relays etc...??

With all those extras are you sure you want to talk to me.

It could be something silly like a relay, find out where it is and pull it out and check, or could be the swich, try cleaning contacts, be very carefull you know how much these parts cost, especially those DOOR BLINDS Whoooooo
