W221 S320 hesitation at low revs

Morning All,

I have a 2006 S320 CDI W221 and, from time to time, when at low revs and pulling away, the car will hesitate 3 times before it finally takes off. Its really hard to explain and only happens every few days or so and appears to be worse when in Comfort.

Imagine you put your foot down to speed up and the power comes on for 1/2 a second, off for 1/2 a second, and repeats 3 times before it finally takes off.

Anyone got any ideas? It was in Mercedes for a service last week and no fault codes. I am wanting to buy a Star system to check for myself though.

I would check engine smooth running under STAR, could be an injector(s)

Hi Andy,

Can you share what fixed the issue you had? I have the same car, and what sounds to be the same fault starting this winter and goes away when the engine heats up.
