My first post so please be gentle
The Audio 20 (single CD with Bluetooth telephony) in my B200 (W245, 10 plate) has suddenly lost radio signals the other day.
All the radio stations are all gone and all I get is static noises. The Bluetooth telephony still works fine.
After some searching, I've tried a few things and none of them worked...
-remove the fuse for the audio unit and re-insert
-factory reset the Audio 20
-check antenna base mounting/connections
I also bought a new compatible aerial off ebay-no luck (although I think the aerial is in poor quality).
Yesterday, I noticed that the radio managed to pick up one station for about 2 minutes when I was driving on a particular road in town. At which point I stopped the car and removed the roof antenna aerial. My logic was that if the radio disappeared then the antenna aerial must be working properly. It didn't make any difference in terms of signal strength. Later I found out that the road is close to local radio station.
The next thing I can think of is to try a new antenna base (something like the picture below. Before I spend £50 though, I'd appreciate any suggestions in terms of what else I should be looking for/trying ?
Thanks a lot
