Wifes B180 CDi (2005) is coming up on it's next service - and it is a "B". As far as I can tell, there doesn't actually appear to be anything extra done on the "B" vs. the "A"? They both seem to feature just an oil/filter change and a check round everything?

They will tell me at this service that it needs a new "combination" filter (I believe that's the pollen filter under the flap in the screen) and a new air filter - and probably want to extract quite remarkably high amounts of money from me for them - but a condition of Mobilo Life is that the servicing is done at the main dealer (it also needs a CVT oil change this time too).

Does anyone know if it's ok to get those parts elsewhere and do them myself (since they are both a doddle!) or does it affect Mobilo? If I use Genuine parts I don't suppose they can have an issue really anyway....

Cheers,
Dan.

Erm, now that gives me another question. Just checked ESS and it says the next one is an A service, not a B, but it was A last time. I've put in all the info and accurate mileage as of today, then extrapolated for the mileage when it will come due and both are "A" plus dust filter, air filter and gearbox oil.....boggle. I thought it was simply A/B/A/B etc.
