Hello. Looking for a non-USA, non-airpump vacuum diagram for an early M117 5L engine. Circa 1980/1 - 117 960

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Still searching for this reference as I'd like to double check my current configuration.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Mercedes-Benz Model 116 is the closest you will readily get online

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately there are a number of differences/116.

Does anyone have Mercedes Shop Manuals covering the 117.960 engine? Could I possibly get a scan or even a photograph of the vacuum diagram?

Hoping to confirm connections to the following vacuum ports and which should have check valves present:

EGR. Two ports.
Switchover Valve. Two ports.
Thermo Valves X2. Two ports each.
Ignition Distributor. Two ports. (Advance/Retard)
Throttle Body. Two ports. (Upper/Lower)
Intake Manifold. One port. (Driver's side/upward facing/next to throttle body)
WUR. Three ports.
Shaped Contour Hose. Two ports. (Idle control)
Valve cover breather hose. One port. (Passenger side)

Thank you for your time.

This HAYNES Manual might be useful? found only in the USA section. I,ve yet to find a complete schematic? Product: Mercedes-Benz 350 and 450 (71 - 80) (USA)

Thanks for posting these the third diagram highlights the vacuum lines connected to the contour hose, which is great.

The first diagram is similar to what I've come across already, US equipped air pump, diverted valves, emission pressure transducers, etc. None of these are found on the 117.960 engine in question.

I hope someone on that side of the pond might have a ROTW vacuum schematic, without all the extra emissions BS.

Thank you in advance.

Addressing the above schematic specifically (lower diagram), the following areas differ from the 117.960 in question:

1. The throttle body only has two ports.

2. Exhaust Pressure Transducer (12) is not present.

3. Air Pump and accessories not present. (7, 8, 9, 13)

Thank you in advance.

This any good then its a 74 setup?

Thanks for that but unfortunately not. This diagram also has an air pump, the ign distributor only has one port and the throttle body has four ports.

While thumbing through any prospective diagrams, the connections I'm looking to confirm are as follows:

Throttle Body. Two ports ONLY. (Upper/Lower, driver's side)
Ignition Distributor. Two ports. (Advance/Retard)
WUR. Three ports.
Intake Manifold. Two ports. (Driver's side/upward facing/next to throttle body;Passenger side mid intake)
Thermo Valves X2. Two ports each.
EGR. Two ports.
Switchover Valve. Two ports.
Shaped Contour Hose. Two ports. (Idle control)
Valve cover breather hose. One port. (Passenger side)

Thanks again.

I'm struggling here- how about this thread then? no diagram but lots of pictures Calling Steve! - 500SLC Thermo Vacuum Switch??? - Benzworld.org - Mercedes-Benz Discussion Forum

Thanks for the link. I've actually posted in that thread requesting the same info with no reply as of yet. I respect that the photographed example is in order but I'd be more confident in confirming the appropriate configurations with an actual MB schematic.

I will note that the one item that differs in that example is the WUR only has two ports instead of the three.

The wagon is running well but still want to confirm the appropriate vacuum line routing.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
