Bit of a problem and I'm hoping someone with a store w126 parts can help!

Yesterday I went to fit remanufactured front brake calipers on my 1986 500SEL because I've had issues with sticking pistons.

One of the caliper bolts snapped off during removal, leaving the threaded part very firmly jammed in the upright. Tried drilling through it and using an extractor, but that also snapped.

I am thinking I will need to replace the suspension upright (right-hand side).

Has anyone got a good used one I could buy, fairly quickly?

Thanks

Bump.

A couple of leads came to nothing, so I'm still stuck with the car immobilised and blocking up a friend's garage.

If I have to buy a new one, no-one will get a Christmas present and I'll be super unpopular!! :(

Any help welcome!

MORE HEAT! Dont give up, taking off the upright is likely to open up a whole other can of worms with balljoints etc. Split the caliper and get it off so youve got more bolt shank to grip. Failing that i think W123 and W116 might use the same upright.

The caliper is off, as is the upright.

The bolt snapped half-way down, flush with the upright, leaving only the threaded part jammed in the upright.

I have drilled through it, tried heat, chiselling, hacksawing, two types of extractor (first one snapped) but it won't move.

I think a 116 upright will fit but the one I've been offered has no provision for the ABS sensor.

I'll take it to and engineering workshop tomorrow to see if they can do anything with it.
