Warranty decision... at last!!!

Courtesy Car

Thanks for the links and info, I think having read them I'm lucky to get the job done, I was going to push the issue of a courtesy car, but it looks like the bus again!! As it was with the service 5 hours ouch!! They also at the service wanted to change the front bottom ball joints at (they said!) approx £300. I bought the ball joints at £23.75 each in there parts dept. Took them to a mate who normally services my past cars and specialises in German make cars, we set to work and in 15 minutes ,both done cost £20, guess where I'm going next time!! To hell with the service book being stamped. Now that they are going to do the rust work. It has been mentioned by the guy at the stealership several times about having the service done with them recently and this may have helped my cause, but at a price!! the previous service records being MB Dealer in Manchester. Thanks again

Some of the experiences here are horrendous. Members MUST, simply must write to Mercedes-Benz UK detailing every issue of their claim and complaining about the appalling way they are being treated. We owe it to each other to at least try to make things better. (equal)

It is easy to put the blame in one corner or another, but warranty claims should be approved practically instantly providing there are no disputes with the claim. Providing the rust is coming from the inside out, and providing the servicing complies with either mobilio, or mobilio-life. It should be authorised and carried out at the earliest opportunity and the owner should be supplied with a courtesy car.

Has everyone written a formal letter of complaint? Not an e-mail, but a proper letter! It guiles me when owners 'can't be bothered' yet come onto a forum to gripe! We owe it to each other to highlight short comings of some dealerships, likewise we should also give praise where it is deserved. Why is there such differing standards and why aren't the standards monitored and the franchise removed from dealers that are not meeting the standard that we have come to expect.

I accept that some members are alleging the delay is with Mercedes-Benz UK, and I accept that, but it could be there is someone in a little office deliberately being awkward? Fetch it to the attention of the head man. Express your disappointment. By complying with the terms and conditions of the warranty you have fulfilled your side of the contract. You are simply asking the manufacturer to fulfill their obligation.

If the vehicle has not complied with the full terms and conditions then I can understand the delays. Are there any other manufacturers that offer a thirty year warranty? Certainly not Rolls Royce or Bentley.

Good luck with your claims,
John

As you now know beware of MB Belfast they are really only spives in suits, have not got a clue and are not interested in you or your car just your wallet.
Try Portadown if i have to use main dealer i go to them, they use Porters for their rust warranty work and Jim Porter has no problem giving a courtesy car.

How many times did Robert McCullough promise to phone you and how many times was he on holiday during your waiting time. My claim was rejected firstly when i went to Belfast and then approved when i went to Portadown.

Oh i could go on forever about MB Belfast, i have yet to meet anyone who would recommend them based on their past experiences.

MB Portadown

Thanks for your input, 230k, I was informed that I would have a quicker chance of getting it done in Belfast as Everyone was going to Portadown. Now I know Why. Thanks but I'm in the loop now for getting it done in Belfast, but I will mention it to Mr McCullough, and your right, but I hounded him everyday for a fortnight, and eventually last \\\friday after disturbing him at his lunch, he rang back giving me the date.
Glojo, I normally don't give up with dealers and in the late 90's was stung for a lot of money by a Citreon dealer about steering issues, and eventually after chief engineer reports solicitors bills.etc, I lost, but they lost in the long run when it was brought to light by BBC Watchdog only then was something done, is this a possiblity hmmmmm!!

If your car is off the road for any more than 2 hours , call mobilo ,. they will get you mobile again :)
