As much as I love Mercedes, the GTR must have been in limp mode. We are talking about the same car here I assume, the GTR that is one of the fastest production cars ever to lap the Nurburgring and has a top speed of almost 200MPH?

(not to mention a 0-60 time of 3.2 seconds & 0-100mph in 8.5 seconds )

My W124 500E is massively slower than a GTR, the GTR is in a different league entirely and even if your TT was running 400HP you would not have stood a chance. They really are incredible to watch in the flesh.

The GTR runs to 100mph in 8.5 seconds.

It is always good fun to have a "play" with another car on the road if everyone keeps it sensible and amazingly, people can use common sense and do so appropriately and safely.

Reminds me of the 1980's when a couple of Mercs tried to outrun this.....

I'm sure the 300SL & 560SEL owners after the embarassment subsided, never realised they were trying to outrun one of these, still in standard trim. That was the days of Group B homologation specials where around 500 had to be built in road trim to qualify for competition use. The GTR would make this look like it was going in reverse nowadays.

The A14 near Cambridge has miles of average speed cams. in all directions now, so that might explain why he could not get passed!
