Hello

I have a W202 and the washer bottle has a black rubber stopper which has eroded and is leaking. Can anyone kindly guide me as to where I can get a replacement. I tried the local halfords and they weren;t sure.

Many thanks.

Or your local MB dealer of course!

These things cost a fraction of a penny. Just ask for one next time you visit your dealer or independent service centre. I never paid for mine, they just gave it to me.

I had exactly the same thing happen to me about 3 years ago, just trimmed a cork to fit and wrapped it in a bit of plastic bag, has held up fine since then.

Mine has also perished.

There are two on the diagram, I couldn't work out which was which so I ordered both.

A1299971681 : GROMMET : EUR 2.59 : £2.17 +VAT
A1159970681 : GROMMET : EUR .84 : 78 +VAT

I will let you guys know which one it is when I try to fit them next weekend. You can practically guarantee it's the expensive one... ;)

Mine's plugged with the end cap from a biro sealed with a dollop of silicon sealer. No leaks....

Bought the plugs, the ones I listed earlier were wrong!

You only need one but I bought two because I always end up losing half the parts I buy, especially little fiddly parts and I didn't fancy driving back to the stealership to buy another one...

31p +VAT each.

Dead easy to fit, just place on top of the hole and push down, it pops into place and that's it.

Wifey's car has just got the same problem. It must be the time of year.

Edit :- FYI This hole is used on cars with headlight washers.
