I noticed that water was dripping into passenger footwell and after removing cover underneath glove compartment I can see that the water is coming from the area marked in red where light is shining.

The problem is occurring when water is flowing through the drainage pipes from the windscreen on the passenger side.

Drain 1 is draining fine.
Drain 2 seems to be slower to drain and I can see the water is sitting in the holes for a long time.

Has anyone faced this problem before?
Thanks

Sounds as if Drain 2 is partially blocked , try cleaning it out with a flexible wire or something similar, probably leaves would be my guess.

After doing some more digging, it seems that there's an inlet which leads straight to the blower underneath the glove compartment.

I removed the plastic cover in picutre 1, and found water(picture 2) to be lying inside this inlet and seems to be flowing into the blower motor.

Anyone know if water should be getting this far and if not, how to stop it?

Thanks

Are the rubber seals on the battery cover intact, these seal the joint to the blower intake.
I am a bit over the top on these drains, I check them every week as it does'nt take much to block them.

Clearly not as this will, as you have found out. lead to water entering the car and pooling in the footwell.

As above, check all seals are properly in place and intact and that all drains are clear.

Yes, will check seals now. Try clear drains best I can

Have you had a new windscreen in the last 12 months?

Not that I'm aware of. Only had car for last 5 months

Ok, as if it’s been changed and is not MB, then the other versions have a plastic (instead of metal) strip at the base of the screen, that can get damaged easily and allows water to pass through and normally into the footwell
