I think I'm going to be the first (probably only) one to buck the trend here.

While I can appreciate the level of work which has gone in to it, the car just looks all wrong!

I'm sure back then that 40 million Yen could buy you the real thing.

Hey new to the Mercedes scene, but certainly now of the 300SL, what do they mean replica, is this a replica like a kit car!!! Or a replica of a famous model like the replica race models of many other manufactures?

Yuk! It looks all wrong, thats a Pagoda body isnt it? The roof is too square and the front lights arent correct!

It's based on an R107, so I'm guessing the roof will come off. It's all wrong if it's a gullwing replica, but as a 300SL roadster, if you lose the top, I reckon it'll be pretty convincing. Way too much red, and at that price, you might as well get the real thing

I was in traffic over the summer behind a a 300SL roadster in dark blue. EVERYONE gave it a second take.

Thanks KillerHERTZ when you show them side by side the difference is obvious, and you guys are so right, isn't it amazing a pagoda is a lovely car and the Sl is a great car, mix the together and instead of getting an amazingly lovely car you get a dogs dinner.

Yes - I think the lights are the later 300sl convertible version.

It has nothing to do with a pagoda, as pete said, its based on a 107.
