Weistecs a go

slight tech hitch..the car was road tested and it threw a maf error of exceeded limit
Paul has been onto weistec and they wanted the ecu back again for them to i assume modify

Ime just waiting to hear whats going to happen as paul has had to appeal to steve from weistec and give him his due was in the workshop until early hours last night giving data to weistec and carrying out the checks they wanted
It has all become very very frustrating and tbh made me question whether i should have had the conversion as supply issues have been a real pain
Headers were sent wrong by cargraphic and had to hacve a new set made then wesitec insisted on having the ecu to name just 2
Not sure Paul will be in a hurry to take one of these on again
Latest news is they are working on the file although that could mean nothing as they still havnt committed to sending a file and not wanting the ecu back
even with the best will in the world this is going to drag into next week and thats assuming weistec can actually resolve the issue
My biggest concern is if it cant be resolved you cant drive a car thats throwing engine management lights it would all have to revert to standard again

Weistec strike again!!!

Not many installs without issues by the sounds of it but there's always a solution so don't think the worse just yet, keep patient and keep buying Paul a bacon sandwich every now and then ;)

Fingers crossed it all gets resolved soon as there is nothing worse than waiting but trust me, it will be all worth it in the long run :)

I wouldn't be surprised if the ECU has to go back to the US to be reloaded with the new map and tested once again.

Don't worry it happens to the best of us, I had to re-vist MSL around 4 times to sort out small issues here and there, but it all comes good in the end. Just get used to driving sideways. My car tried to put me in a barrier again today at 90.

Repost oops!

Its probably compunded by the nightmare of my last car
6 months to build the engine
using all the best components Roger clark/cosworth etc so many delays and issues i honestly thought never again
but i thought all the weistec installs had been issue free so it wld be completed while on holiday

I know you don't to hear it but I have seen these done within a week! :wallbash:

I'm not so sure there has been a single Weistec install without some sort of issue be it ecu, cooling or piston related

gradually loosing the will to live with it to the point i hate ringing paul now and its certainly taken the edge of what should have been a exciting project

Feel your pain on delays and engine rebuilds. It's what happens when you push boundaries and go that one step further.

The end result quickly makes you forget the teething problems along the way.

You are in good hands and they will go the extra mile to make sure it is all right.
( even if Weistec after sales are useless)

Don't feel bad mine has been there since the end of March.

Should have named this thread weistecs a No Go

2 days and still no file from weistec i think they have adopted that famous line from Gone with the wind
where rhett turns to scarlet and says

Frankly my dear i dont give a ****

Weistec will come good they always do. Could also ask Acid if he has a spare file just a thought. They will all be online around 4pm, so you could always give them a call. Zach is usually quite helpful. Alex is better tho IMO.

tried direct contact just got told refer to eurocharged
paul waited till 1 in the morning last 2 nights and still no file

ive emailed again asking for the file as i have no choice but to sit and wait for the new file to arrive

the map has arrived now needs loading and testing again fingers crossed

Didnt want the wmi nozzles in the silicon aor anywhere near the maf so paul came up with this which i think is rather neat
