HI All, Found my E220 Estate has a NS wet rear carpet (soaked!). Any ideas where this water could be coming from? I did have a tow bar fitted recently but think this is too far back to cause probs. Someone mentioned a heater box drain blockage?
Thanks in advance

Nice forum name! I suppose you could have chosen Undeterred?
What year is your car?
If it's a 210 model the fault will probably be due to the drain below the wiper assembly being blocked. The problem will persist until the drain is cleared.
On the offside under the rear seat lies the PSE pump that controls the central locking, alarm and electric windows amongst other things. The unit is housed in a foam boot.
The boot will absorb the moisture and dampen the PSE unit resulting in malfunctions. The unit is around £500 to replace, so maybe best to act sooner rather than later.
If you have an aqua-vac or similar, draw the water from the carpet regularly until the problem is cured.
Cleaning the drain isn't too difficult, but if you'd like some pics I'll post some for you.
The drain clean was added to the "B" service schedule, of which, my car had six before I bought it, and the drain was blocked.
