I understand talking about wis etc can be not allowed, but how much chat about it is allowed ? I mean obviously 'getting it' etc with links etc. is not. I just wondered if general support is allowed or is it ...shut up :(

Some people on here have legitimate online access to WIS through subscription or membership of the "MB recognised" UK club, so I don't see why there would be any objections to discussing how it works-- user tips problems etc I think its the breach of copyright pirated copies that's the issue.

Thank you Mr Grober, So for legitimate users it is fine for users to discuss on their own systems, their own problems and so on. While it is not really ok for people to comment or discuss sites or tips etc for finding non legitimate software which would be normal practice. So i assume private messages are really private between users ?

That's one you would have to ask the moderators. My answer is just my personal interpretation. PM's are not usually in the public domain so I assume would more be down to the individuals sending them. Where it might get tricky is if someone started to use the PM system to actively MARKET /SELL pirated copies over a period of time as opposed to merely ask questions as once again the people running the forum could be viewed as "complicit" in such an activity. Again that's one for the administrators but in my experience if there's any doubt at all the forum administrators will stop such activity if there's any chance it might rebound on them in the future- and who can blame them.:dk:

I have seen on ebay people selling various software with claims of "ebay safe harbour" dont remove, i have right of ownership etc. I am curious as to what their excuse or reasons are

Most likely lies to stop their auctions being pulled!

PM's are exactly that - private messages and are designed to save you having to put your email address etc on the open forum :thumb:
