What car do you still need to own?

Great minds.......

E60

Whats with the Citroen? Corvette, CLK, 60's Merc - Its all going well up until the Citroen :)

You don't know what you're missing, a 2CV is one of the most intelligently engineered and fun cars ever built.

As for me

Bugatti type 35
300SL Gullwing
3 litre Bentley
Citroen SM
Lancia Aurelia B20 GT
Porsche 356
Lincoln Zephyr (convertible Coupe, 1937) not the modern abomination
Hispano Suiza H6
Citroen Sahara

That'll take care of one week's shopping after the lottery win

This could be a very long list....

190e 2.5-16
911 Carrera 2 [964]:ban:
E55 AMG Estate [211]
M3 [E30]:ban:
SL 500 [129]

450 SEL 6.9

Nostalgia Entries:
Mk1 Golf GTI 1.8
Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI
RS200

And for dreaming and a very big lottery win:

McLaren F1
250 GTO
Veyron
458 Italia [+ fire extinguisher]

Liking the RS200, I used to walk past one in the local Ford dealership when i was young. It was uber cool! Also liking the Puggie!

Bugatti type 35

Amazingly , about 30 years ago there used to be one of these parked out in the streets of Edinburgh , taxed and in regular use , I'd often see it in one parking space or another around Royal Circus . It lay there wide open in all weathers , never as much as a tonneau cover on it . Even then , late 70's/early 80's , it must have been worth a few bob .

There was also a 300SL Roadster , a W111 220 Cabriolet and an Adenauer floating about the New Town at the same time as I ran around there in my Ponton .

I also fondly remember one morning , going to work in the Ponton and finding myself following a DB5 - it put a smile on my face as Goldfinger had been on the TV the night before .......

Oh and I used to regularly see a gent in his D Type blasting along the road between Winchburgh and Linlithgow .

All these cars are hidden away now .

i'll try to keep it to a short list ! Not in any order:-

Porsche 928 auto
Ferrari 400 auto
Delta Integrale (me as well Ollie!)
Lotus Cortina
'65 Mustang convertible (of my own - i borrowed a mates for 3 months, what a posemobile!)
G55K
E500
CL600 (probably a 140 not a 215 but not sure)
S55 AMG
450 sel 6.9
600 SWB

A bit more down to earth for me..

Rover SD1 Vitesse.. *hmmmm!*
Datsun 120Y coupe
1970 Dodge Challenger, registration number OA5599
1977 Bandit Trans -Am
Mercedes W114 200D

Opel Manta 400
Suzuki SC100 with Janspeed turbo conversion
Fiat 126 De Ville
GMC Syclone
Dodge Charger 440- 1968

Thats gorgeous  Done the 928 thing Ok but doesn't rank in my top 5 of ownership. Best so far without shadow of a doubt was my Lotus Carlton, followed closely by my Chevette HSR

A bit more down to earth for me..

Rover SD1 Vitesse.. *hmmmm!*
...

Actually , that reminds me

Triumph 2 litre Vitesse - great fun car . My pal used to have one whilst I had a 1200 Herald ( which I bought for him when he was strapped for cash , only he never came up with said cash so I ended up keeping it , until it fell apart ) .

Other cool non-Mercs owned by family friends and which I liked include

Bristol 405 ( that gent also had a Vitesse 2 litre )

Jensen CV-8

Saab 99 Turbo .

You can keep your Ferrari's & Lambo's, for me it would be:-
560SEL, 450 SEL 6.9 & maybe a 2.5-16v as a daily!!

The old school person in me says Escort Cosworth. I know its a Sierra chassis and all that but it is a must do I think.

That said, never meet your heros etc!

Beyond that, the Mustang is probably the one to go for. Supercars, McLaren F1

m.

Probably the wrong forum, but my brother had one of these when i was like 10 or something. I'd like an original at some point but again it would have to be purely a leisure car.

:ban:
