What do you miss on your car

After owning my first MB for a week now I found one thing that is missing that I kind of took for granted.

My previous car (11yr old Golf TDI GT) had a very nice radio feature for traffic reports which would record the reports as they are played. If you missed on due to distractions of driving (or other reasons) you simply pressed a button on the radio that plays them back. It also recorded the next 2 hours of reports after you turn off the car (ie park up) for playback when you start driving again (extends to 24 hours if you press the playback button when the engine was off)

I now find I have gotten into the habit of not listening properly to these reports unless I hear the road number I’m on and then go to play it back (having missed most of the report)

So the question is what do you miss on your car?

Miss 55MPG, don't miss rattles, cloth seats and blue oval badge:D

I miss the supercharger whine, replaced with V8 rumble.

I suppose the only way forward is to combine the two? ;)

Heated front seats, Sunroof, Xenons... all went away with the Omega and did not come back with the Merc... :(

heated front seats

Don't think SWMBO would let me buy a car without them now. It's the first thing she asks if I'm looking at cars. It's even more important than colour as far as she's concerned.

Nothing at all.

I came from a rickety Audi 80 estate with a faulty fuel gauge, a speedo that only worked going up hill, collapsed drivers seat that needed a yellow pages and a cushion shoved underneath it and more rust than a rusty thing made of rust.

(Although the hole in the exhaust made it sound much fruitier than the 220CDI)

Miss nothing.

JSWMBO got my last car so I still get the pleasure of checking the tyres, oil, washing, etc., etc.

I miss having a wheel at each corner for tight manoeuvring and having a hatch and fold flat seats.

But there's an awful lot I don't miss.

She who must be obeyed

I suspect JSWMBO is Junior She who must be obeyed.

From Rider Haggard's She, popularised by John Mortimer's Rumpole as code for the Mrs.

I have the Sony XRC-900RDS in two of my cars , and also have a spare CDX-910 , all of which have that feature .

Why not just put a 'proper' radio in your car in place of the cr*ppy Blaupunkt or whatever it is wasting space in your dashboard just now ?
