The fluid in this doesnt even register on the dip stick however i can see the fluid!

Is this the brake fluid? Is dot4 ok?

Woah, hold it right there, that is your power steering fluid. You need to get the correct stuff from either MB or Euro Car Parts.. Its a yellow/green colour and normal power steering fluid is not suitable.

should i not be driving the car when its this low then?

out of interest where do i check the brake fluid?

It's the power steering pump reservoir.

Use MB Power Steering Fluid from any MB dealer.

Do not use brake fluid

If it's too low you may end up with pump cavitation.. that could cause damage to the pump. My guess is if you can see the fluid it's not too low but you should top it up ASAP.

ok thanks for your help

do you know where i check the brake fluid?

Don't simply pour the special fluid. Look at the dip stick mark in 20(can't remember precisely) degree and when cold. You don't need to fill right up the dip stick. The current level maybe sufficient.

By the bulk head on the drivers side is a plastic cover held in by two Zuess Clips. Its under there.
