Old school LIVE singing in a spectacular setting. Fabulous voice, an incredible interpretation of a great song and supreme microphone technique, using my favourite hand-held vocal microphone, the AKG 535EB.

Bearing in mind todays newscasts the lyrics of this Eagles song are eerily apocryphal-THE LAST RESORT

You can leave it all behind
Sail to Lahaina
Just like the missionaries did
So many years ago
They even brought a neon sign
"Jesus is coming"
Brought the white man's burden down
Brought the white man's reign
Who will provide the grand design?
What is yours and what is mine?
'Cause there is no more new frontier
We have got to make it here
We satisfy our endless needs
And justify our bloody deeds
In the name of destiny
And in the name of God
And you can see them there
On Sunday morning
Stand up and sing about
What it's like up there
They call it paradise
I don't know why
You call someplace paradise
Kiss it goodbye

Songwriters: Glenn Lewis Frey / Donald Hugh Henley

As I get older, my appreciation of Rod Stewart as a writer grows. The cover of "I don't want to talk about it" by Everything But The Girl woke me up to this. Technically I think the original composition is genius

I have quite a few vinyl albums, all sorted into A-Z order and sometimes i cannot think about what in would like to listen too ( Choice is a bad thing sometimes! ) So now every evening between 6pm - 7pm myself and Mrs PC will randomly select a letter and a number ( A17, D9 etc ) and will play that album, had some odd mixtures a couple of Mmmm's and a few gems!

Depeche Mode - Best Of. Really enjoying it. Strange, as i never took any interest in their music in their heyday. A while back i saw a documentary on them and then a concert and was blown away and got a bit hooked. Looked to be superb live as well.

The final single from the Beatles.
Lovely song to end a great band.
