Looking for some pointers re this 2001 CLK430 Cabrio

Mileage 93,000

Comes with Comand, Zenon's, Parking sensors and most imprtantly, its apparently got a bespoke Brabus leather interior + Brabus bodykit + wheels.

So, the big question is....whats a fair price to pay for it??????

Difficult to get exactly, but I bought my CLK320 cabrio in Sept, so I think what i saw should be fairly current.

I paid £12,500 from MB with Tier 1 warranty for mine with 54k miles on a 2000 with FMBSH, all bills etc, , fully loaded except command and telephone prewire, but almost all other extras.

This is a 430 which seem to be less desirable than the 320, most of the 430's I saw were £1k or so cheaper, as they seem to be more difficult to shift.

So against the price I paid, I would say knock 1K off for no MB warranty and another 1k for the fact that it is a 430. So that makes £10,500. I would say knock another £1,500 off for the mileage but offset with being 1 year younger.

Add back £1k for Comand, the Wooden wheel etc and the brabus bodykit.

So that takes us to about £10k, as premium price for a Car that is in A1 condition with 12 months MOT and all servicing done.

Here is what Glass's says from the Vauxhall valuation site

http://www.virtual-showroom.co.uk/sc... b&sessionid=0

Part-exchange Price:
Excellent condition:
£9440
Average condition:
£8560
Below average condition:
£7540

Hope this helps, personally I like it, but there will be a lot of buyers put off by the leather colour.

Sorry I can't answer the question, but the car sure is purdy!

I don't know if the colour of the leather could actually be a selling point. It's a very individual car for a very individual type of person who may pay that small premium - remember, 'I want to be different, just like everyone else.' ;)

Yup always difficult to price a non-standard car, I agree a lot of buyers wouldn't like the interior so it could be difficult to shift.

same price as a normal 430 due to its dodgy interior...

you can see one on my website for an idea of price...

Eek.....I actually quite liked the interior!...thought it went quite well with the paintwork....Oh well, maybe just me then!

I quite like the interior too :)

I quite like the interior too :o, nice looking car - very tempting :D

Vlad, I quite like it as well, I just don't think its worth any price premium.

Do the Brabus bodykit + wheels enhance the value?

i like the interior too, the point is from a market point of view, its dodgy as some will like it, a lot will not...

Hello

I like the look of it also.

It will however maybe be harder to sell on as people lets me honest prefer silver or black.

At one point that would have cost an awful lot of monet with the Brabus bits. Second hand however difficult to say what it adds if any, as some people will simply not entertain it.

Get an insurance quote as the add ons will make a difference to your premium, modified from standard manuafactures specification.

If you like it go for it, just bear in mind it make take slightly longer to shift on, however at 10K in 3 years say its worth a few grand no ones going to be too bothered.

Just a quick heads up the car is Black...Obsidian Black

Still trying to nail the price question...what's a fair price to pay.....its advertised at £14,000 which seems ok to me with the Brabus bodykit/wheels and interior. Apparently there are bills for £19,000 just for the Brabus modifications alone.

Vlad, thats over the top on the price.... id say 10K for a normal 430 and so add another 1.5-2 max if you really like this one...

First as a cash buyer, it’s worth whatever you are prepared to pay for it.
If it were me I'd bid them in the b_ _ _ _ _ks and wave 10K under their nose, and certainly no more than 11K.

Remember it wil have limited appeal when you decide to move it on, and, no disrespect to current owners of pre-CLK 2004 cars, is beginning to look a little dated, and should be a big consideration when thinking longer term when the time comes to sell if paying over the odds for the car today.

I wish you well in whatever you elect to do.

Regards
Matt
