I bought my car from the stealer in Leicester, the car was sold by them when new too. Today I was in Wellingborough and pulled up behind a C180 Estate, Viviantite Green and the registration was one number on from mine!!

Whats the chances of that happening?

It's funny because every morning I pass a C-class estate going in the opposite direction at almost the same point every day, he has started waving to me now.

when my parents bought their vaux. astra back in 1989, a teacher of mine was in the showroom too. She bought one just like ours only blue, and it was one digit incremented on the licence plate from ours. Was nice to see the other car in the carpark at school every day for like 3 or 4 years

My parents gave me the astra a couple of years ago, and I used to see a tiny little pakistani woman driving one the exact same colour as mine, same spec too, another digit incremented on the plate. I used to shout and wave and flash headlights etc but she never noticed...

Similar occurance happened to me earlier this year.....

..... On the Scottish Rally in 2000 a friend from Trackrod Motor Club turned up in his nice new 220 CDi (T) Classic, we spent some time talking about the considerable torque, quality, etc etc (you know the sort of bol*&ks after a few beers and a very nice malt)......

..... Feb 2002 I find an excellent 220 CDi (T) Espirit in a local garage and bought it. Weeks later I'm driving round an airfield helping to set up a single venue rally back up in Yorkshire adn I spot an estate with the reg 1 digit different to mine......

....Later that weekend I find said car in the service area next to a friends Mk2 Escort rally car.....

...... Yes you guessed it - both cars came from Charles Sidney in Bradford - his boss got 783, he got 784 and now I've got 785!

wierd eh!

I've seen the same with my Dad's W124, we were at a friend's daughters wedding a few years back and Dad parked next to another identical model W124, with the same colour and options...the only difference? 1 digit increment of the number plate.

Closest I've come with my car was a few months back, driving past Rayners Lane tube station two identical W202 saloons of the same year and both vivianite green drove past me in the opposite direction, both drivers had big grins as they past by my car. Heh a triplet of W202's, even though the number plates were totally different.

We actually have 3 126 380SE's with 3 numbers out sitting in our yard.

I think they are like A916 NEL, A917 NEL and A918 NEL

What a coincidence!!

I'll have to check round the yard see if we have any others like that (we have 160ish cars at the moment)

I know it's not the same - I've just seen my old Corrado! parked outside the Chinese Restaurant at the end of the road.

You might not think that's anything special - it was written off 3 years ago.......!

Hit by a drunk driver on the back corner when parked outside my house, the chassis was twisted (hence the write off) and the impact was sufficient to shove the car 30 feet and into 2 other cars. The driver was that pi$%ed there weren't any skid marks....

Hope the bloke who's bought it knows the history...... (I've still got the service book)
