Whats your strategy for year 2030 / ban of ICE vehicles?

Some first world guilt going on there. The electric car. A product so good you have to shame people into considering buying one.
Who is shaming people into buying one? Who shamed you into considering one?

I know lots of people who own and/drive EVs and I’m confident that being “shamed Into it” will be very very low down on their list of reasons for driving an EV.

See the MJ post i was responding to for context.

The plan with the enforced move to EV's post 2030 is that the masses do not drive. Their personal mobility is taken away from them.

That is a regressive social policy. Not something to look forward to and the consequences of such a policy are unknown.

I have absolutely no idea what that means?
I'm meaning this government, or any other, will never admit to a mistake, and will never go back to plan A, progress, progress at any cost just because it seems a good idea and might get us points, at any cost as long as we are still in charge.

Up here in the power house i might see 3 EVs a day, trundling along with the other 2k per hour towards Manchester, not so many, maybe we are saving the power in the house.

Saying that others are misguided suggests that you know the truth. What do you know that we don’t and how did you find out?
I get the impression you are a petrol head. Appreciate good engineering. Likewise i appreciate the fine engineering that went into the indirect injection Mercedes OM motors.

I know the truth, its in front of my eyes, on my drive, its 21yo and good for another 20 i hope, i don't need to replace it and use even more steel creating CO2 or anything else for that matter.

I appreciate the engineering that went into the de Havilland Comet, but at the same time I think we can all agree that any surviving samples should go into a museum, not used to fly people around.

How long do you think it will take before "the masses do not drive"? Keeping in mind that 2030 is just the beginning of a long process at the end of which the majority of ICE cars will be off the road. How long do you think ICE cars can continue to be driven after the last new one is purchased on 31st December 2029?

Old is bad new is good.

Does everyone in London now wince when they see an e-type jag driving down the street. Quick put your mask on, it's a car emitting gases!
