I have OEM 21" AMG alloy wheels on my ML63.

A know-all friend of mine says they cannot be refurbished as they are diamond cut.

I was wondering if this is true?

If not, does anyone know where in the London area I could get them refurbished?

Thanks

diamond cut wheels can refurbished but i expect it comes down to how much damage they have on them and the cost as diamond cut wheels would be skimed again making them diamond cut, but if you have very deep marks in them then some may go done the painted route to make them look like diamond cut wheel. There is a place Nr Croydon that done the wheels on my Mondeo ST when i bought the car and they looked fansastic i will see if i can find there details

it may be worth trying Spit and Polish in Kent for their recommendations. They give a great service but far from the cheapest

Diamond cut can be done but it never lasts, just see my old threds on refurb.

The Kent company that always gets top recommendations is Lepsons in Gillingham, but they are not cheap. Some will say you get what you pay for, but I got comparable service and quality somewhat cheaper from Rimtec in Meopham - although they can be a PITA to contact. OK, my wheels were not diamond cut, but worth an ask at both.

I have used Lepsons many times and would highly recommend. Not the cheapest but quality and service is good.

As regards Diamond cut alloys, I have always been led to believe that although they can be refurbished - the recommended number of times they can be "recut" is low. It may even only be twice but I stand to be corrected on that number.

Have a read of this thread. LINK.

Alloy and lacquer has never been an ideal combination because there's a reaction between them if the process isn't carried out correctly.

Rimfurbish gave a 12 months warranty against the diamond-cut finish failing and this may well be longer nowadays as processes advance.
The wheels were still in great condition when I sold the car a 18 months ago.
