My car still has the flaking, kerb-damaged 16" sport wheels on it wearing Pirelli snow sport tyres. Winter is probably just about over now (fractional increase in temperature apparently) so it's time for some new tyres and wheels to go with them, preferably 17". I had a look through the OEM catalogues and there are some nice wheels available.

W210 "Alhena" wheels:

R171 SLK350 wheels:

I am tempted to get AMGs again but just fancied something a bit different from the OEM collection.

Any other suggestions? :)

W203 Sports pack alloys 17" or 18" AMG monoblock split rim with studs around the circumference of the alloy...

Electra would look good but they are 16".

Which ones? The softer 5-spoke like the ones on Fuzzer's car or the sharper/thinner looking 6-spoke? I did create an "artist's impression" of the latter and it looked a bit odd.

I don't really like the IVs, too fiddly for the slab-sided 202.

Need to find the brochure again probably, which is the electra?

The Sports packs 5 spoke one likes fuzzer's but with MB chrome star centre caps would look cool.

Electra are the W203 5 double spoke alloys - they look nice and sporty and are easy to clean the inside as hand/sponge can fit inbetween the spokes to clean the inside of the rims without having to take the wheels off.

The Ronal website http://www.ronal.de/ has some good designs plus if you click on showroom and then choice by car, select Mercedes and then your model type you get a nice selector which superimposes the wheels onto your car!

I believe that Ronal make many of the OEM wheels.

AMG Style II in an 18" staggered set up ;)

what wrong with the IVs. huh. huh. HUH!!!!! ;)
Design too fiddly, plus they'd make my brakes look tiny ;)

The W202 is a pretty solid looking car from the side with not much in the way of curves or fine detail. The IV is just wrong, esp in multi-piece.

I tend to like wheels that have a good spoke/hole ratio, if you know what I mean :)

I have always like the W210 "Alhena" design.

I have always liked these on a 210 but that is the first time i have seen them on a 202 and they look really really well.

AMG 17" Styling11, they are still for sale!!.

Alloys like those offered above were a rarity when I bought mine, now they are so commonly avilable. Mine are due to go for another refurb, but not my fault and not my bill, otherwise I would be tempted to throw a lttle more inthe pot and have a different style wheel for a while.

One of the reasons I like the Alhena wheels is that they remind me of the Brabus IVs :)

have a set of 18" styling IIs in my garage lol
Hmm.

Last time I spoke to MBenzNL he had a styling pack in storage for me (which he bought in March 2003!). If he has, then a set of 18" styling IIs would go very nicely with it :) .

S'pose I should get in touch with him really :) .

Are you selling them? Is there already a thread somewhere I should be reading for details etc? :)
