When did MB sort Valeo / Paint issues out

Pretty much as the title. When did MB sort out the Valeo and the paint/rust issues out on the W211?

2005 is definately safe for Valeo and paint. 2004 is probably too, just check the rad, there is a sticker on it which says the make. Galvanisation late 03 and nano paint mid 2004

cheers for that. an 04 car at the moment so falls in the range... Did MB ever do a recall for Valeo?

just bear in mind that will have the SBC brakes on it - removed in 2006 (I think). Also if a diesel make sure there is no DPF fitted (think it is too early for that).

IIRC they just switched the manufacturer of rads. Check it carefully, if a behr you are fine. If a valeo get a gycol test for the gearbox oil, then buy a behr rad. If test says gylcol in there walk on.

If you can get the VIN no someone here can find the build date and that will reveal all.
