Which is the best Car Vac to buy?

They are very good, I wouldnt say indestructible... We use one at work and I replace the motor every few months (£40 from ebay)... But then we do use it all day every day!

The Black and Decker is good for a 12v device. Its best for keeping the seats or carpet looking good once properly cleaned. It wont cope with a really dirty car. The Henry would be much better assuming you can acccess a mains supply

Yes I got the Black and Decker for a quick fix, and will use a Henry for the main clean. There was a dyson hand held, serious power but battery life just 6 minutes.

I just use the normal household vacuum, bt then I'm a sucker for keeping it simple :D

You're letting the bag get full.
We used to use them at work for very dirty work and the motors used to last years, even after spitting water out.

I have a little Oreck compact cylinder. What is good is you can push the hose onto the air outlet and then it blows instead of sucks.

Great for blowing out the water from the exterior trim after you have washed it :D

Oreck UK - Standard Compact Cylinder

I bought a wet and dry Parkside from Lidl for £35. It's lasted 3 years so far and does a great job for a small outlay and when it breaks I'll get another. As it's been so good.

I've never found a good 12 volt car-vac yet.
It's the sort of thing my wife comes home with.
I find them all to be pretty hopeless.
I use the house vac.

Yes maybe... as its not me using it Ill pass that message on!

I have just replaced the motor on our Henry after 10 years or so. We never used a bag after the first one got full. The old engine was clean as a whistle. The centrifugal action of the motor keeps it dust free.
