Hello all,

I am looking for a radio/CD to replace the exisiting Sony that we have in the A Class and whose LW reception is awful. Can anyone recommend a set whose LW reception is of prime quality? I have been considering putting a Comand unit via Alfie but don't know if the tuner sensitivity in LW is any good.
BTW, anyone know where the aerial is on a A Class?

Most of the problems will be with the inbuilt antenna, they are not suited to LW reception and really need a long aerial. Also the 50 ohm coax suppresses the signals

Japanese tuners are not quite as good on AM as their European counterparts, this is manly to do with sensitivity and selectivity as you cant have both at the same time, being sensitive makes them noisy.

The difference in Japanese and European is small and up to you if the cost is worth it
