Hi all, I have two unique flat bonnet badges for sale. These were hand made items produced by a guy on one of the U.S. Forums (MBWorld). As they were created by using an original upright star (retaining the collar and the Mercedes laurel), this badge is a straight replacement for the original upright star as fitted to the W202, W203, W208 and others that used this type of badge. It's very quick to fit, you simply twist the original badge from under the bonnet pop out and replace with this one, no modification or tools needed!

Initially they were meant to be a limited production run of about 50. I bought serial number 17 in August 2006. Later in the year he increased production so I also bought number 99 too. No. 17 was briefly fitted to my brother in laws W202 before it got written off, no 99 was never fitted to any car.

Looking for £45 each delivered within the UK, I seem to recall these being circa $120 USD when I bought them!

Happy to post abroad but would need to check shipping dependent on where you are. Comes complete with the certificate as pictured. If you have a preference for a particular serial number let me know.

Please excuse my ignorance (I'm new to Mercedes) but what is significant about these badges?

Some people don't like the traditional upright star and prefer the flat bonnet badges as typically fitted to the roadsters (SL and SLK)

Ah right, I always thought the upright ones were more preferable. Are the flat ones only on the newer models?

Historically the sportier models (roadsters, SLK, SL etc) have had flat badges. Unfortunately now in the UK Mercedes don't seem to think the market want the upright badge. Now only the S Class has the upright Mercedes badge :(

And my S class had it's upright star badge kicked/pulled/forcibly removed by some local drunk/jealous vandals, so I can see why the flat badges are popular...less of a target for vandals. It was uni freshers week.

Hi there welcome to the forum. I'd need some contact details from you, the PM system on here won't work until you have 30 posts. I'll see if we can get a mod (administrator) to give PM permissions.

Send me an email. I can respond with all my personal information for you.....this would be the quickest way to communicate until PM is unlocked on this new account. You can email me at [email protected]
Thanks for your reply.

Bump...

I know flat badges aren't for everyone but if you like a flat badge these ones are great. Any interest before I list on eBay, these are really high quality items.

This part will fit any Mercedes-Benz that uses the 210 880 01 86 upright star - including the W220 S Class - because it is made from the same OEM part as the original upright star.

You can swap between the WHITE STAR Flat Badge or the Original star in seconds without any tools, so you could have the Original star for formal occasions, and substitute the WHITE STAR Flat Badge for everyday use.

These are now on eBay at £45+postage. I have Buy it Now and Best offers enabled.
Would consider serious offers from here too.

Both badges now sold.
