Who's placed a C63/s order ??

I parked our new gleaming white ML63 outside one Land Rover dealer and made a point of showing the sales guy what I had bought after he ignored me on my last visit (we were looking at a RR Sport). The look on his face was priceless!

Sounds like a lot of effort just to gloat.

Do you really think a salesman cares that much, that it'd bother him that you went for an ML instead of a RR Sport? Land Rover can't make them quick enough they're selling that many so I doubt he went home and cried himself to sleep.

Well an update on mine, dealership has confirmed the build is now complete and will be here in 10 days.... So, bigger question, take the car now or wait till 1st Sept for new Reg, is the new Reg apart from the bravado on new Reg on 1st Sept going to make a real difference?

I think you'd be silly to pick it up before. It definitely makes a difference for resale value, as people search for cars from a specific plate. I rarely get asked what month a car was registered, only the plate.

It'll have a specific C63S number plate, so not wholly certain, and hence why I'm unsure if it makes a difference.

I agree with JBD.

From a resale point of view I would wait...people are always going to take a newer plated car over a similar priced car on older plate even if there's only a month in it

Mine is due to dealer last week in Aug / 1st week in September but as I am going on Holiday on the 4th its going to have to wait until I get back on 16th. :bannana:

I guess I'll have to have a long think about it, it's the waiting thatll kill me lol

However quite excited that it'll finally turn up, been a long 8 weeks since I reopened the order after cancelling when the dealer said October/November delivery.

I was bored yesterday so went to look at m3 at my local BMW they were fantastic and i'm really thinking about m3 now but the sound of c63 is holding me back

Cant believe that Merc are having so many problems / issues in delivering their cars. This is the point at which the customer masses are interested to have the first vehicles on the road etc etc

Ive heard of a number of people cancelling (inc me obviously) solely because of the delivery delays :(

Also glad to hear that some of you guys have taken / are taking delivery very soon.

Just out of interest whats the running cost of m3? more or less same as c63?

Also depends if car is on Agility finance as I expect there to be a lot of depreciation in the car as we will see the coupe, facelift and probably other special editions and so unlikely to cover the GFV for early cars and in that case the plate won't affect in a way that you might care so much.

But anyway ten days from now is around 17th then it needs to be prepped perhaps so might be even closer. If my car was here around the middle of August (which it won't be) then I would take it on a 15 plate.

Saying that, these shortages might help the very short term residuals perhaps a tiny bit.

Yes indeed you are right, the dealer also reckons he can have it prepared for the Saturday before, so 7 days to, I'm thinking you only live once and you can't take it with you... So I'll probably take it as soon as it's ready.

Steve

When you sell it it won't have a private plate

If it's leased and you have a GFV figure then I don't see why you would hang about, I'd want it in my possession ASAP!

I say go for it - you won't regret it*.

*Disclaimer: don't blame me when someone tells you the price difference between a 15 and a 55 plate in a few years.

Which there will be

Good thing come to those who wait.....and we are only talking 7 days are we not. :bannana:

For me each day, week, month and year flash past quicker each day lol

must be my age

Sounds pretty consistent with this:

Sounds better on the move

I do like the new m3 - looks fantastic but that has to be the worst cold start of any sports car - my old e92 sounded like a race car on cold start in comparison.

Anyway slightly off topic :)

For info I'll have waited 2 months pretty much exactly with my car sat waiting for collection when I get it on the 1st of September. It's partly just to pick up a car once on new plate date which I've never done before.

Last BMW was supposed to be and turned up 3 months late so this is my second attempt for it. That was also when the first UK xDrive models hit on the 3 series and the 335d F30 arrived. So BMW aren't immune to production problems.

I'll just leave this here for you:

I think my 335d sounds better than that. ;)

I imagine it'll be huge. The 55 plate would be 10 years older than a 15 plate. ;)

Patience of a saint :)

Have they sent you pics or have you seen the car in the flesh yet?
