Who's placed a C63/s order ??

Maybe they're going back to the 6.2!

In all seriousness, that is bizarre unless they are diverting engines to the GT. when I visited the engine plant last year they had probably 500+ 5.5L twin turbos are wrapped in film just sat there, they have huge capacity and a very large portion was already churning out the 4litre engine which we were not allowed to see.

I fail to see how you go to making a new engine and car model which needed changes like extending the front to fit said engine to then discontinue that very soon after launch. Maybe there's a gap in production because they are selling too many GT's which is a halo product so they want lots on the streets. So a small break in C63 production could make sense but there won't be a new engine for a long long time.

They're fitting some left over 6.2s.....

Exactly, GT is higher profile and higher margin - simple economics no doubt.

If i remember correct October,November and December were highlighted in red. 3+ months is long time to not allocate engines to the C63 so must be some sort of issue.

Having said that the Option Availability is produced on a weekly or daily basis so things could change.

Coupe is coming soon at one of the car shows - maybe engines being used for that, assuming/hoping its exactly the same as the saloon. I only say that because I was at the Nurburgring last week and whilst fueling up I heard this lovely AMG noise, turned around and to me it looked like the new C63 saloon, with the camouflage spiral wrap they have on the cars - it shot off and it all happened so quick so I cant tell if it was the Coupe but it sounded fantastic.

From what I saw today, the engines are just sold out until December, that's all.

Guy saying he ordered 10 weeks ago in the general discussion section , expecting car in 6 weeks time and now been told no engines and order pushed to March next year!

DuncS3 is referring to me, I'm the one who's been told to wait till March '16. I'm going to check other dealers tomorrow and see what they say.

When was your car due to be built? If it was due to arrive in 6 weeks from now then it shouldn't affect you as build would be this month.

My car is expected to arrive in 6 weeks but its looking to arrive early as the option freeze date moved forward 3 days. I would clarify the situation with your dealer and if you don't get a firm explanation then get on the phone to MBUK.

Yes be interested to hear what's going on there.

This point doesn't help Jim much but I haven't seen a c63 on the road yet, so they aren't in abundance out there and with these hold ups that's not going to change much.

Merc are looking into it and getting back to me at some point today, so I may be a slightly more educated position of knowing if and when it'll arrive.

I've seen one on the road so far. My own is due in 11 days and MB have said it's on schedule and for some reason they will want money off me soon :)

So when it arrives I'll let you all know. If it doesn't and it's delayed, well the dealer knows I'll take my money back.

What's the full spec?

Get the commission number from your dealer and a print of the order from the Daimler Cesar ordering system.

Btw, when the computer systems says production date of say, August 14th - does that indicate when they start building the car or when it should be completed?
