Who's placed a C63/s order ??

That's not possible. It will have been built earlier than that

My dealer told me it normally takes about 8-10 days to arrive from the factory - hence putting 2+2 together, so if it hasn't left yet - at least two weeks.

I'm not chasing it - it is what it is and a week or so doesn't make a difference.

Mine had same build date as yours, my dealer has confirm mine should be ready on 10th September....but I am on holiday until the 16th :wallbash:

yes, they said they will check on Tuesday and they should have a better idea of delivery date.

I wish... I was told to wait for the GT S..... Till March ha ha ha

Steve

Yeah got my car. It's lovely ;)

I'll write more when I get the chance however just to say I took it on a 2 hour drive with a boot full of luggage and 4 people (Picked car up on way back from holiday) and got 30mpg. That's mostly single carriageway roads and obviously running in but was impressed with that.

The Distronic with steering assist is freaky but good. You can feel the car turning the steering wheel for you with a small force even when your holding onto the wheel. Obviously not enough that you cannot easily override it but tried taking my hands off for a short while and it'll follow the road nicely. Very impressive.

Performance seats are comfortable though not yet got the hang of getting in and out easily. Anyone got any tips here? I feel like I look like an old man trying to get out currently. Lol

Car gets a lot of attention. It looks the business in white with the black wheels and night package. If people don't notice that though they all do when you turn it on ;)

Great car though quite a few miles to go until I can see how much faster the S feels vs the non S I had for a test drive a few months ago.

We need pics.

Have to admit I'm totally surprised by the mpg returns, I got 33.7 mpg (according to the computer) the other day... Clearly I'm driving it all wrong.

Steve

I feel a little disappointed with all the new cars appearing - I had originally expected to get mine this week but at the last leg it's gone a little quiet with my car somewhere but not quite sure where. Oh well need to be patient now - it's easy to wait months but it's the last few days or so that is the tough part. I need some of Fastlanes patience.

PS pics please!

I'll try and sort some pics tomorrow. Been out again most of the day.

Did quite a run today and pretty much exactly 30mpg again. If your driving the car under break in type driving it seems no real effort is required to get a reasonable mpg figure out of the car. Not sure about heavy city driving, not the sort I do that often.

Got stuck on the M25 and the Distronic is much smoother than my F30 3 series was. I stopped using that in stop / go traffic because it would brake to a stop harshly. It felt bad inside the car and I imagine people behind me were thinking what a poor driver I was when using it. The Mercedes system works much better here.

I'd say BMW have the edge on the infotainment side of things but not much in it and maybe because I'm still working my way around. I did however pop in an SD card with speed cameras and they show up plus bong at you when close if you want. I obviously don't speed, this was merely an educational lesson to see if it was possible...

Suspension is firm but I still find journeys comfortable. So my BMW 335d has the adaptive suspension in that with 2 settings. In comfort it would soak up the road bumps a lot and it was very comfortable however it would body roll on corners. In sport it would firm up quite a bit, the body roll was pretty much fixed and you'd feel the road more. It was however still a softer suspension than the C63 in comfort. I've no problems with how it is, it is comfortable and I feel relaxed at my destination. The important point here is my wife finds it comfortable. *phew*

Small point but coming from a BMW you would set the temp but it also had a dial to set if you wanted hot / cold air to come out of the vents. I'd normally leave this in roughly the middle but I never quite got why they did this. I like my side to be cooler and my wife likes her side to be tropical. This works much better in the Merc as my side can be blowing cold air and her's hot with the car deciding what's needed based on the temps each side is set to. This wasn't possible on the BMW because you only had one dial. I never got say how it would heat say the car up if you had the dial in cold or vice versa.

I'd be interested to know how much brake dust your getting on the wheels. My previous A45 wheels stayed clean far longer. The C63S wheels seem to get covered with brake dust a lot quicker.

Steve

Good question. Rolled up after it had gone dark today so haven't had a look. I'll let you know tomorrow.

I've got the black wheels by the way so hoping it doesn't show up as much.

Would you mind explaining a bit more about how you get the speed cameras up using an SD card? Where do you get the data from and then how do you get them to show (and alert) in the Comand?

With regards the BMW ventilation, their cold/hot dial appears to be unique to them and I reckon is a great feature. Here's how it works:

When set on red, the face vents deliver the air temperature required to reach the temp you have set. If that means warm air is needed to reach your dialled in 20 degrees, it will deliver warm air (or cold as necessary).

However when set on blue, it delivers cold air to the face regardless of what it needs to deliver elsewhere to get the car to the right temperature. So basically, it means you can get hot air to the feet and cold air to the face. This is good for airflow as hot air rises and sometimes you may want to warm the car up but breathe in fresher air (ever open the window in winter whilst also trying to warm up the car?)

Black wheels here too. But the dust settlement turns them off black quite quickly. Washes off easy enough, especially with two coats of poor boys wheels sealent.... There just seems to be an awful lot.

I need the speed cams too, presume it's a download from Garmin, rename the file and plug the sd card in?

Steve

With regards to the speed cams I brought a years worth of updates from PocketGPSWorld.

To put them on in the car you can download them in Mercedes format from their site which is just GPX file format. Put them on an SD card in a folder called PersonalPOI and pop it into the car. You can then see the Personal POI's in the options setting on the Sat Nav to make them show up and also add in audible alarms. That's in.

In terms of alerts it's based on a distance from the POI and doesn't take into account side of the road the camera is on or even if it's on the same road as you. So it'll bong for a camera on the other side of the road or say for a camera on a road near one your driving down. So not perfect but the radius isn't huge so not much of a problem I think.

I originally put in the mobile camera locations but I've switched off the audio alerts for those as there's just too many so just going for fixed cameras.

For info I believe it's even possible to put videos onto the SD card and play them on the screen. Might get a few of the kids shows onto one to keep them busy when the wife just goes to buy one thing quickly from the shops... I've gone for 128GB card so hopefully can fit enough video on to last one of her quick shops ;)

Interesting about the BMW cooling and thanks for the info Palmball. I guess the problem is I like cool air blown in my side and the wife would ideally like flames coming out of her vents which just wasn't possible :)

Here's some photos of the car. 2 inside and one outside so you can see quite a difference the lighting has on the paint colour.

Just spoke with my dealer - my car is still nowhere to be seen - I believe its built or was at least meant to be completed by the 19th August but there are supposedly production line issues at Bremen?

I am wondering if maybe it fell of the back of the transporter or something and they are trying to patch it up....Obviously nothing I can do here but I had definitely expected to be in my car by next week so am a bit dissapointed.

I would be wondering if a desperate would be buyer has offered the dealership an offer they couldn't refuse;)
Whatever, disappointing not to have your car by now considering the build date.

May be nearer the truth than you realise, my old C63 was delayed by a week or so and had a suspicious rear door shut line from 'new'.
