Insurance renewal arrived today so remaining loyal to Zurich for many years, we've shopped around.

Using 'Compare the market' I've found that both Aviva & Liverpool Victoria offer a much lower quote for comparable cover.

Has member had good or bad service from either of these ?

Which insurance company are you with ?

regards David

I'm with LV= and have been for very many years. Once again they came up with the best price for my car - they must like MBs. :D. I've been lucky enough to only have to make two claims in the 30+ years I've been with them in their various incarnations. Both times everything went through very easily and with no repercussions. When I've spoken to their customer service people they've been quick to answer the phone and very helpful. I thoroughly recommend them, especially if they're coming up with a good price for you.

Aviva for me, provided you get a web based quote next time around, as their paper based renewals are high.

+1 LV but no claims made.
+1 for Aviva; outstanding for their helpfulness and a great online system…current insurers with multi-car

Aviva for me also...not the cheapest quote mind you, that honour went to LV.

I suppose you only discover how good an insurance company is, is when you have a claim.

Rightly or wrongly I tend to view expensive quotes as 'robbing dogs' and cheap quotes as 'there has to be a catch'.

I therefore try and find a happy medium. ;)

LV= for us too. Just got my renewal through - £176 with biz class 1 for both me & Mrs R, with £100 excess.

They handled a claim when someone ran into the back of wifey's car. Obviously as it was no-fault I didn't expect any hassle, and didn't get any. They even waived the excess, which I'd expected to have to pay and reclaim.

One thing I like is they automatically cover garage courtesy cars, so you can avoid the excess waiver payment that many garages want you to pay these days.

Been with LV for 3 years now - their renewal price has always cheaper than other insurers in my case.

I am with Aviva and NFU. Aviva are adequate, NFU are exceptional. (but they won't insure my SL )

With RAC. They were a nightmare last year when talked to them initially about changing to winter wheels and tyres, did not want to know and said they would not insure me. They then changed their tune after a bit of complaining. When it came to renew, now car classed as modified, they came up cheapest.

2 cars and house with L&V. Discount for bulk buying. :D. No extra for winter wheels but £15 for modified front bumper
They wont do classic agreed value though, mores the pity.

.

I think LV are one of the few (maybe only) insurer that will extend your 3rd party cover to another car being driven by but not owned by you even if that car is not insured.

im with hastings direct they have been ok untill renewal it came through at £239 however they quote £169 on compare the market, ring them up and they are not prepared to honour the quote so looks like changing.

Classicline, very good service had my M3 covered with them, as their name suggests they only normally insurance older vehicles and performance cars.

They made an exception with me as I have been with them quite some time, £264.22 F/C, garaged at home address, london postcode, I was happy, no one else could come anywhere near that figure most were x 4!

I've been with LV for a few years - I get a further 10% off the car quote because I have life insurance with them. £163 fully comp for my C class, just over £200 for the ML. They have a good reputation locally too.

I think LV are one of the few (maybe only) insurer that will extend your 3rd party cover to another car being driven by but not owned by you even if that car is not insured.

That should be a bit of a moot issue now with continuous insurance.

Saga: fully comp, £350 excess, NCD protected, garaged, no claims/convictions, 6k miles pa - £93.48.

Second year with them after AA would not match them despite all being the same group - Acromas.

Premium just keeps going down! I won't be happy until I get 'em below 80 squids. :D

I shop around every year. Before online comparisons were possible I would take a day off to phone around, always worth it!

Currently with Saga and KWI (Key Workers Insurance).
Always find it's best to narrow search down to a few companies and then phone them to check the small print such as if the worst happened and one had a total loss claim would the policy terminate, excesses (small on glass and protected, larger on other claims etc), will they transfer NCD to another insurer if required and without a fee (Saga happily allowed KWI to share my NCD). I don't just look for the cheapest quote.

LV for me too, both house and car, way cheaper for like for like cover.
