Why so cheap??

A Mercedes hybrid no less. Anyone buying one of those second hand must be fond of rolling the dice.

Oh, really? Why's that? Because hybrids catch fire? Or because they're scrap at three years old ?

Given that tax breaks mean that all the ICE company car sales in the UK HAVE to be hybrid,

you wonder how many £50k non-hybrids get sold now.

Mercedes in particular have had a bad record with hybrid batteries failing (almost unheard of with Toyota and Lexus, who have been selling them for ages). I think MB have dropped them completely now, and I'm pretty sure I read that they were no longer able to supply replacement batteries for some C Class hybrids.

Bro in law recently got shot of his EQC due to the lease running out. He’s got a Lexus SUV now.

He said the lease price of the Merc had gone through the roof.

Non related but his brother has just bought a 70 plate Lexus LC which is a definite 2 fingers to being enviromentally friendly.

A chum has just got shot of his GLC after four years of complaining about the tyres "crabbing" on three point turns.

"They all do that" was the response. "It's a thing to do with right hand drive conversion," said the MB main dealer.

Jury's out of the likely replacement.

I guess that's why so many people are buying used EV's now that they're available.

Less complexity and proven technology.

MB dropped the EQC after only 4 years. There's a thread on here about one needing a new battery with just 1000 miles on the clock, and after 3 months Mercedes hadn't been able to provide one or even a date when one might be available.

Yes @markjay and the Koreans have wiped the floor with the Mercedes and BMW EV's

Ioniq 5, EV9 and EV6: As the Surfaris would say, it's been a wipe out. Functionality, styling and price.

One source of drivetrain power is simpler than two.
Fair point.

I guess this is why EV's are taking over top end sales.

One, much simpler drivetrain being so much cheaper than the hybrid or old fashioned diesel stuff.

Those Lefties were so "right" in driving this through at the EU, USA and in Asia.

Based on your reasoning, the Warp Drive on the starship Enterprise is simpler than the dual motor setup on a Tesla......... :D

So maybe its equivalent has risen in price. He didn’t have any issues with it though.
3 years of trouble free motoring.

But that was always going wrong!

Tesla model 3's are insurance group 48 -50. Evidently not simple to repair cars then.
