Well my screen is now replaced and suddenly [after 10 years of dinks and minor chips] I can see clearly now...With the sun full on I used to get myriads of "glints" or "stars" and now nothing at all. The screen is clearly not an MB part but it fits and seems waterproof enough. No rain sensor so nothing to cause problems. For £75 excess I'm very happy.
