First I've seen of this and I guess hat's off to them on the acheivement but to call it an SLK is a bit cheeky. It's only got the SLK body and interior left :D

But it looks to have been well done for a specific purpose and for once the Yellow probably works better than any other colour :D ( or should that be color)

Nice one Janner,
Thanks for the link. I wonder how it is a World record though.....

""""""just 1101 days since we departed on our round-the-world, Guinness World Record journey. Passing through 116 countries, we covered more than 245,000 kilometers during our travels, which began in Iceland way back on 1-1-1999. Our non-stop, self-contained, three-year trip in a one-of-a-kind Mercedes-Benz took us to six continents"""""

Perhaps it's a cunning ploy to get us to read his books?

I hope all is well with yourself and your good lady wife?

Kind regards,
John

I've read that story a long time ago. This Mercedes was made on the ML chasis, just the SLK body was put on it. I don't remember the exact price of the vehicle but it was stated aswell... :(

Yep saw this a while ago, still looks crazy

It was first shown in the mercedes mag in 1998.

I figured some of you may have seen it before since they started their journey in 1999 and finished in 2002. I hadn't seen it until now and thought it was interesting.
The car has a G-Wagon chassis.

John, My good lady is much better now, thanks for asking. :)
