Merc C Class Classic 99
Hi,

I have just got 17" AMG wheels to fit on my C Class 99 model (W202)
Tried fitting them using the wheel nuts provided by the seller. However it didnt fit. He did mention that I would need different ones. He also mentioned I would need spacers.

My AMG wheel dimensions are :
Wheel: 7.5 J x 17 ET 47
Tyre: 225/45 R17
rear axle:
Wheel: 8.5 J x 17 ET 58
Tyre: 245/40 R17

What would be the wheel nut length and dia required? And would I need spacers? Your help is much appreciated.

thanks.

10mm spacers on the front and 25mm spacers on the rear.

Those offsets are miles out.

You are looking for wheels with an offset of 37 for the front and 30 for the rear in the AMG wheels for the C class w202.

I suspect you have bought a set of A class wheels , which won't fit anything other than an A class.

budget £150-£250 for all the right adapters/bolts

thank you for all your comments...
this was taken off from a clk/cls as far as I can remember....it would be heartbreaking to hear this will not fit the W202...

I checked the wheel nuts/locks on ebay and I am adviced these wheel nuts..
is this right for the wheels?

need 20 * 14x1.5 Radius Bolts 40mm Thread

hey..I checked this in the official site and they do have this on C class as well...(on w204's)

so I believe this should fit the W202's with/without spacers?

Would having spacers, push out your tyres too much out??

No it will not fit without spacers. The offsets are incorrect. The alloy will sit too far inside the arch. You need spacers to get an offset close to the below:

Fitment for w202:
FRONT .............................. REAR
17x7.5 ET37 225/45R17 17x8.5 ET30 245/40R17 Mercedes-Benz/AMG
17x7.5 ET35 225/45R17 17x8.5 ET30 245/40R17 AMG
17x7.5 ET37 225/45R17 17x8.5 ET34 245/40R17 AMG

You will need at least 25mm spacers on the rears. I personally wouldnt want to be running 25mm spacers. Your better off finding alloys with the correct offset.

Thanks npuk.

Would 10 mm spacers be fine for both front and rear?

 as above on the rear you will need at least 25mm.

They are A class alloys , not CLK or C ... they aren't the right wheels really for the car.

If you decide to sell them , i'm looking for some A class alloys for the purple car in my signature. I'll have them off you ;)

ok..thanks npuk.

Howard, these are c class alloys (I have a pdf files on c class accessories from mercedes which has listed this...for w204's)
anywayz I dont plan to sell it :)

They arent a class, it is a w204 fitment but that doesnt meant they will fit the w202 just because they are both c class, the fitments for both cars are different.

thanks a lot npuk...in search for the spacers and longer wheel bolts now...can you recommend any good stores where I can get this from?

alloywheelsdirect no longer sell spacers but they do sell bolts. Search the forum for the word 'spacer' someone posted details of a company last week.

Chris is it a good idea anyway to be running these alloys with 25mm spacers?

Spacers are never a good idea IMHO and many insurance companies agree ..

Thank you all for your opinion...well, I am ready to spend 150 as long as this doesnt degrade the performance on the car...rough handling etc???

what would be your opinion on this? would the wheel stick out ??
