The more I think about it, perhaps the DAB option would be a good idea? This unit looks like the aerial is independent of the main aerial? What reckon?

Personally I think the window mount aerials look awful. It's why my DAB is not connected . If you have a bee sting type aerial you can replace that with a DAB one and then get your full DAB functionality that way. The aerial will receive both DAB and analogue signals.

Blaupunkt do a more neat window solution as the one that comes with unit is held in place by what looks like sellotape. Not Nice at all. The Blaupunkt unit is more a little box that sits in the window, which on an ML would be OK, but too intrusive on an SLK. I'm still waiting for an acceptable DAB aerial solution for me to reconnect mine.

But don't think DAB is a cure all. It can be a nightmare when going through digital blackspots as it will lose the signal and depending on the head unit it may then switch back to analogue while waiting for a new DAB signal and the loss, pick up and difference in the signal can be very intrusive.

Having said that, I loved my DAB and do miss it. You just have to be prepared for its foibles.
