Would you walk or run away from this.

It might be that I can't see big pictures but does not look that bad John.Seen much worse

Hmmmm......Only done 14k in its first seven years?

Would be encouraging if the seller had already commisioned an RAC /AA inspection and was in possession of the report. Appreciate that he invites these agencies to come along... but at your expense.
It will be a lot more than usual to insure a previously written off vehicle....if you can find a company to insure you.
I would definitely make some enquiries before anything else

You're mistaken.

It costs no extra than normal car insurance, it's just that if your car gets stolen or written-off you'll get about 2/3 of its market value.

Yep.. Plate says it all.

Wife works for leading car insurance company, (probably the biggest),they will not touch previously written off cars with a barge pole. They would and do simply refuse to insure Cat D's . Being one of the prime players in this market it is likely that they would reflect the general market. Make an enquiry first thats all i say.

I'm not making it up Sweatpea:thumb:

No problems pal, I've insured a few Cat-D's & C's over the years and never had a problem.

Can you ask her why they won't touch them with a barge-pole?

It's just company policy that they don't want the 'headache' of those issues. It seems that there are easier ways to make a buck out of us than to get their staff tied up in assessing premiums for these more time consuming, subjective assessments, that are Cat D write offs.

I knew it would be about MONEY eventually. Isn't it always:devil:

Every diesel car to me is suspecious, specially the low miles ones.WhO buy a diesel to not run it.I do in my petrol 100 miles a week,5 - 6K a year.I would expect a 10 year old diesel to have 130K to 160K on the clock.Otherwise dodgy.Diesel cars should have lots of history ass well as they need more regular oil changes etc.
I prefer a big petrol engine at least the millage wouldn't be played with.

it doesnt look too bad from a very quick look - but i suspect at the price there are plenty of others out there to choose from.

i like the wheels and no reason to think its been used as a "skip"?

In what way does the numberplate 'add to the visage that this car is much newer and more expensive than it actually is'?
