Wrapped from white to matt metallic grey

I saw a car the other day which had had the front of the bonnet and wings wrapped in the original colour to protect it from stone chips. It looked original and no doubt does offer some protection.

I presume that a wrap is easy to take off if it is damaged or you just want to remove it?

Yeah, it's only low-tack so comes off easy peasey

Personally I like to use Avery Dennison supreme wrap but 3M is also very good. In real terms you are protecting the paint by wrapping however stone chips can sometimes pierce the film but not always. If the vinyl has been fitted correctly it won't peel around the chip and it is possible to do a repair.

What prep do they do to clean and decontaminate the car of moisture, dirt, film etc (out of interest)
the car goes through a full clean and decontamination process, usually with products specific to the vinyl manufacturer.

From what i understand a change in colour from a warp does not have to be declared to DVLA... Anyone ever have problems with police when their checks say the car should be a different colour?

I had big issues with my insurance. Best to check with yours before you dive in.

It is advised now that dvla are informed but it's not law.

Thanks ecain63 -

Sorry for all the questions.. I don t even have the car yet but just getting prepared for when I find the right one..

Did it make much difference to the premium?

Churchill cancelled my policy as a result. Very unexpected. Luckily I found Sky insurance who were cheaper and far more helpful.

What car are you looking for?

She's white again and this morning I had great fun driving to work in the lakes with no wife telling me to slow down, sunroof open and using as many of the 723 horses as possible. Great fun!!
