Say I'm looking at a webpage, then minimise it to the bottom taskbar revealing the desktop. Then click on another icon to open a new (different) webpage the minimised one always opens first...followed by the newly selected one. Then if I close the 'new' page it asks if I want to close all pages.

Is there a way to open new pages whilst leaving minimised pages unopened on the taskbar?

Running XP and IE8. (i think :dk:)

Ta.

It sounds like you are using Tabbed browsing - which is default?

If you change this to be Window browsing instead, it will start a whole new IE window for each link you open. Go to INTERNET OPTIONS > GENERAL > TABS > SETTINGS and disable it to see if that is what you want?

You can get away with right-clicking links and choosing 'Open In A New Window' alternatively.

That wasn't it but your idea pointed me in the right direction. I ticked 'Open new links from other programs in a new window'.

Sorted. Many thanks. :thumb: That's been bugging me for ages.
