With the wheel change i mentioned yesterday I've now got Yokohama AD08Rs on the car. Only in 235/35/19 at the moment due to them being what the A45 was running when the wheels were on that. Long story short, the grip is phenomenal. Did a run from 20 up today and ran a 2.311s 30-60 vs a best of 2.7** on the OEM continental rubber. I've yet to try a 1/4 mile run but I suspect it's going to knock a chunk off the 12.1 @ 120 I run before. If the wheels sell I think I'll fit 265/30/19 of the same rubber to the rears of my stock rims.

More testing to be done ;)

100kph - 200kph:

Best before Yoko's: 8.315
With Yoko's tonight: 8.230s and 8.265s

30mph-130mph:

Best before Yoko's: 13.098s
With Yoko's tonight: 11.796s

60mph-130mph:

Best before Yoko's: 10.148s
With Yoko's tonight: 9.537 and 9.661s

Obviously more grip, less rotational mass on the axles and less resistance with them being 235 width. I reckon an 11s 1/4 mile tyre if the launch is sorted. Ran 122.3mph at 12.4s with a 4.8s 0-60mph. Easily over 0.5s to be taken off the 0-60, maybe even the full 0.8.

All times verified by vboxverify.com if anyone is interested.

Impressive results how are the yokohama's priced against the rest out of curiosity?

Circa £200 a corner. Not a budget item.

in the price range of what i would expect to pay for 19's! never compromise on rubbers

They are supposed to work in the wet judging reviews, but my experience in the A45 was that they were a little loose in the heavier downpours. On a 516bhp rwd car I'd suggest they'll need kid gloves when the rain falls. We shall find out I'm sure

I haven't use yoko's for a while. But I recall they always gripped well because they was a very soft compound but on the other hand they was worn out a lot quicker than your average tyre.

They lasted well given they did about 60 or 70 launches and 7k miles on the A45. Still got 6mm of rubber today (well maybe less after this evening ;)
