Hi All

Been asked now by numerous members if we could organize a GTG on the East Coast of Yorkshire. So my thoughts are as follows.

We meet up on Marine drive in Scarborough at the North Bay end where there is ample free parking side by side (good photo opportunity) late afternoon. Have a coffee or tea or whatever floats your boat from the cafe look over each others cars and have a general chat. Then we go for a bite to eat which throws up a couple of options.

  1. Australian bar at North bay, good food and we can book upstairs room
  2. Curry night in Scarborough
  3. Italian Night in Scarborough
  4. Chinese night in Scarborough

If you are interested please indicate your interest below and then we will move onto dates if enough interest,

Just had a few PM's saying could we do this as a Christmas GTG which is fine by me. So maybe late November early December? If that is the case then the private room in the Australian bar (all food types available) if available would be a very nice atmosphere and perfect for a group like us, all welcome including SWMBO's :D Please express your interest and I'll take care of it.

Put me down for this Ian.

You can't beat a bit of sea breeze in the winter!

If I can get my passport stamped at Rochdale then I will pop over. Is a flat cap and a whippet obligatory?

I'm from near Rochdale.
However, after 45 years this side of the hill, I've just achieved temporary provisional candidate status for category-3 naturalisation.

Time to commit, what date is best?

OK boys and girls time to put a date on our East Coast Christmas GTG, so I will propose the following.

Scarborough

Saturday 3rd December
Sunday 4th December

I'lll let this run until 17th October and then go with the majority so schedule as follows.

1. Meet midday ish, informal fish and chips
2. After lunch chew the fat admire each others cars and coffee
3. Evening meal (cuisine to be decided)

Plan is say meet midday and evening meal 6:30pm for 7pm

Alternative ideas welcome but express interest and availability below

Flanaia1 3rd or 4th

Good thinking Ian. :thumb:

I would prefer 4th (3rd is my b/day, but not entirely out of the question).

That's fine we could have a belated celebration for you, another reason for us all to get together, I suspect the Sunday is the better fit for most anyway :thumb:

3rd for me, sundays are busy!
