Hi guys I sold my c63 coupe back in may and have since been using a run around whilst I decide on what I want next. My budget is 35k so my question is what could I get, I want something relatively new 2012/13 onwards not fussed on number of doors, of course something quick, basically a replacement to the c63?

I have started to look at rs5's but you don't see many around, why is that? On paper they look quite desirable?

All opinions welcome....thanks
Adam

I don't much about the RS5 but apparently the 4.2 V8 has a serious drink problem. I know a guy who's properly minted, he had an RS4 and got rid because he was sick of putting petrol in it..

Cheers,

Thanks guys.

E63 would be a bit dated inside I think having said that my dad has a 2010 e220cdi is the e63 much different inside? M6 is a good shout but thought they were out of my price range?

I am more inclined to go A45 than E63, yes very different but both are quick enough for a daily.

Keep them coming those guys, really helpful.

Having said the above I have just seen the below which I do like:

Mercedes-Benz E Class 5.5 E63 AMG MCT 4dr

However how different are they to the w204 c63 in terms of fuel, rfl, service costs and then performance, day to day driving etc?

How much will these depreciate based on the imminent arrival of the new generation?

I'm on my second E63, and both have been my daily driver. I do circa 13k miles a year. My commute is fast A and B roads, and I average 23mpg. Tyres all round once a year. VED £500 and something per year. Service costs are similar to a C63.

Straight line performance is probably a fraction quicker than a C63, and it will acquit itself surprisingly well on twisty roads if you're smooth.

Best thing I can say is that after almost 40k miles driving one every day it still makes me laugh :D

I've just come out of a 64 plate S5 Sportback, and whilst it wasn't the V8 it had a fabulous V6 supercharged engine. The interior would be basically the same though.

The problem for me was for the first time ever the press reports were correct, apart from the engine the car was dull as dishwater. The steering was lifeless, the handling (even with the sports rear diff) was inert, the interior whilst wonderfully built was boring and not as logically laid out as the Merc. Quality was also down in areas such as paint, the Misano Red pearl paint chipped really easily and lacquer peeled off the bumper (a common problem), the alloy wheels also showed signs of pitting even though they'ed only had summer use and about 11,000 miles. The diamond white paint on my SLK55 AMG was another class above.....

Overall I didn't gel with or rate the Audi, but as the engine was so good (and it is on the RS5), I'd suggest an extended test drive as first impressions for me were good. It was only after I'd lived with the car for a few months that I missed my CLS even though it was a diesel.

Now I'm in the W205 C63, I look back and think that the Audi was really dated and I don't think I could ever go back to the brand, just so boring........

Oh and Nappa leather seats and bolsters go baggy and floppy too, another common problem with Supersport seats......

Hmmm not looking good for the rs5 based on your write up.

So 35k would be my max if I by out right, however if I was to finance my next purchase what kind of monthlies would I be looking at for a w205 c63 saloon or estate?
