Hi i have a 2005 311 sprinter it has now developed a strange coolant problem i am loosing coolant it is been returned tru the header tank and im catching it in a bottle and replacing it everyday or so.
There is no oil contamination in the oil cap and i dropped the oil last week replaced...
I thought the right engine temperature was 90 degrees but my one always goes up to 80 and nothing more.
Is that normal?
does it mean my sensor is at fault or the thermostat?
Car is a 1992 W201 190e auto.
I'm chasing down 'water' leaks into the passenger footwell.
While grubbing around, I saw some white powder/staining which seems to be coming from the heater pipe assembly under the center console (ie behind the trim where the heater controls are).
I've taken...
just go my me sensor from Mercedes and its different to the original

before I fit it, was my original upgraded and that why I have this one?
Well I have a coolant leak, a bad coolant leak lol. I haven't had a chance to even look underneath yet but I thought I would get a few suggestions beforehand.
So I keep losing coolant fluid but it usually only needs a top up every few weeks. The car has been off the road for about 2months so...
Today I got a message on the car stateing the coolant was low
Does the car require a particular type of coolant? And is there a certain ratio of water to coolant?
Thanks.
Hi guys,
Hope you're all well. Towards late Summer last year I picked up some service bits for our family W124 (1989 230E) with the intention of giving the fluid/filter/plug maintenance a go myself.
Didn't quite get round to it but my Dad mentioned the other day that the coolant light has...
My 6700 mile eight month old C63 has a message on the display saying top up engine coolant.
Checked the bottle and level is about an inch from the top so presume it needs to be full to the top. Manual is not very clear as it shows a diagram with a marker in the coolant bottle but mine doesnt...
Hi, Does anyone know if the level sensor in the coolant reservoir on a w163, 2002 ml270 is replaceable?, or is it a fixed, non-removable part of the tank?
Hi all, thinking of replacing my coolant for some Evans waterless 180.Has anyone else done this?just wondering about flushing the system out with water before adding the stuff what flushes the water out.Going to get it done at a garage but wanted a bit of advise before hand, car is 2001...
Does anyone know how the coolant pipe is connected to the alternator in my car?
It is a 2002 c220cdi estate.
I am trying to remove the alternator, but can't work out how the coolant pipe is connected.
It is not mentioned in my Haynes manual.
Can anyone tell me if it's ok to drive with this disconnected? Would i be right in guessing that this sends the message to the Cold Start VALVE to stay open? In other words when there is an open circuit, the car will assume that its very cold and constantly require a rich mixture?
What about...
cant see why both the wiper washer and coolant lights are both on all the time. both fluids full. has been like this since I bought it - almost - having gone round all the fuses, it went away for a bit, but has returned.
none of the fuses appear burnt out. everything works (except cruise...

I've bought Merc Dealer Antifreeze....I want to replace the existing with the good stuff. How do I thouroughly flush the system to ensure that there is no mixing.
Also I'm not sure what antifreeze is in there at the moment (if any). What are the chances of long term...
Sorry folks, really noob question, but searches don't seem to find me the answer. Simply, what is the correct coolant level in the expansion tank of a W203. I have it filled around 2/3 or so, about 1" above the internal baffle plates. Surely to the "black line" for the lid is too high?
Opinions?
Hi, I recently got a e320 twin turbo (one of the original huges of beaconsfield), i have been having a few issues with it since i brought it and working my way through them, but today it developed a big problem.
I am getting steam from the rear right of the engine combined with a whining...
I keep getting the 'Top up coolant' message come up, usually when first starting from cold. Obviously I have checked the coolant level and it is full up.
Question - could it be just a fault sensor, or could there be something more sinister?
Thanks for any advice...
