I have been researching into this and even see there is a video of it on Youtube, making it look easy. However, I cannot get the cylinder to pop out. I have tried various sizes of allun keys and pins etc. They say it should be a 1.25mm wire. Does it have to be exactly this width?
I am in...
Hi all,
I had a warning light appear on Sunday. Took it MB Hove this morning, who ran a computerised diagnosis to find and clear the fault.
Small 'f' type fault. P201B-004 'Misfiring of cylinder 4' Status 'Stored'.
I had new plugs fitted two weeks ago during an A service. The MB tech...

My 1995 W124 E280 Automatic key jammed one day but I managed to free it.
Now, it jams for only a second or two every now and then.
However, the missus refuses to drive the car until the problem is fixed.
Through Mercedes dealer, I have obtained a new key cylinder (ignition barrel) and a...
Have removed head from my w124 e300d (606 engine) according to very helpful info on here. having spent £600 on parts (Gaskets, head bolts plastic parts) and recon etc I just want to make damn sure I get the reassembly right! I have the following questions;
1. Is there a way to check if...
1.) Hi, I need to know what the torque specifications are on a 2000 model ML 270 CDI.
2.) Do I need to torque them only once, or again after +/- 1000Km driving as is the case with certain other vehicles?
3.) Can I use the same head bolts or should they be replaced with new head bolts?
Dear Merc Gurus and Forum specialists,
My C180 COUPE engine 271 is misfiring on cylinder 3 with error code P0303 and behaving rougly on idle. Had Spark Plug changed and Ignition coils on cylinder 3 but it only became bit better to what it was. I took it to garage yesterday for diagnosis with...
Hi, today my Engine Check lit up and the car started to drive quite lumpy. I connected my OBD II reader and it showed Cylinder 1 Misfire.
After clearing the errors, I restarted and monitored the real time values
before the error
Fuel Sys1 = CL
Fuel Sys2 = CL
after the error
Fuel Sys1 = OL...
Took my 320CDi into the dealers today to have 4 of the injector seals replaced.
Got a phone call saying that there has been a previous bodge repair next to No 1 injector - the side wall next to the injector has had a small plate stuck in place (probably to cover a crack/hole) and therefore...
I've got this fault code on my C180 (1998 model).
My first guess would be the coil-pack, but if this was failing wouldn't it cause a misfire on two cylinders as they share a coil?
What else could cause this fault?
Also, which is cylinder no1?
Many thanks
The key wont turn in the ignition barrel of my 190D as its stuck on the off position I cannot remove the barrel any advise as how to remove it and can it be fixed.. Believe it or not have just replaced her with a 94 S280 and sold her.. Think it must have sensed something lol

Unusually, my W124CE has a manual transmission.
Recently my clutch pedal has been feeling very odd and in the last few days it was almost not disengaging at all.
So today I went about changing the clutch master cylinder which is situated up near the pedals held tightly up against the...
In my quest to find the perfect Merc I have stumbled across a few nice S500 W220 examples on which the VIN decoder reveals the following option:
479 cylinder cut-out system (ZAS) (с 04.08.1997)
I googled for this and one site had a pretty good explanation that basically says that the engine...
I have read that the early builds of the M271 suffer from a cylinder head problem that causes compression problems. This is due to exhaust valves sticking, guides/springs wearing, and carbon build up.
The fix is a new cylinder head.
I have read that the exhaust valve on the new head is smaller...
I'm a bit rusty about the current regulations concerning the rental, storage and handling of compressed gas cylinders e. g. oxygen, acetylene, argon . say from B.O.C. Perhaps some folks "in the trade" can enlighten me. Do they have to be stored in a suitable outside compound for...
I had to push my W202 today because I couldn't get the car in gear! It decided it didn't want work any more and gave up near my home in Aintree and had to push it into Aintree race course which was embarrassing (not had to push a car for a long time). It did work for a short time after a short...
