I am seriously toying with the idea of an old S-Class (not a coupe). I have about a £5k budget. Ebay seems to have plenty, as does Auto Trader.
I'm thinking under 100k miles + FSH, not too fussed about expensive gadgets (that go wrong?) but would quite like to 'go large' on the engine. I...
noticed occasionally over the past week that the car (W210 320cdi) wont rev past 4000rpm whilst driving.
If you take it up steadily then it will stutter and then drop off. But if you drive it hard then the engine seems to just die - well not quite but the revs drop to about 2500.
As above really.
I'm not out for a slagging match, i'm just wondering if the members of her majesty's finest on this forum could offer some explanation.
I spend about 2 hours each working day on the M4, and I regulary see traffic cars doing well over the limit, about 80-90 mph i'd say, with no...
Report in The Times and other media today. Personally I think it should be Headlined: 'Plan to reduce Road Deaths by 30%' but they know that their headline will get more response.
Good God. An outbreak of common sense involving cars!
"A decade after the Government ordered developers to discourage car ownership by making it difficult to park, a local authority has produced new guidance that acknowledges that the policy has failed.
Far from reducing car usage...

Per my original thread on this subject, I noticed this press release slipped into my inbox whilst I was off:
Motorists on a section of the M42 will be allowed to drive on the hard shoulder at up to 60mph from today, following a detailed safety study, as the Government steps up work on new...
Sitting on the side of the highway waiting to catch speeding drivers, a State Police Officer see's a car puttering along at 22 MPH.
He thinks to himself, "This driver is just as dangerous as a speeder!"So he turns on his lights and pulls the driver over.
Approaching the car, he notices that...

Does anyone know if there is a temporary speed limit in force along the M4 at Swindon between J16 & J18?
I drove along this stretch of road 5.00pm yesterday at 70mph at the same speed as everyone else. I went under a temporary speed camera mounted on a bridge and think I was "flashed".
