Hi, I have a 300TE 24v (M104). It has a long standing issue whereby it seems to hold back (I hesitate to say misfire) under load e.g. pulling from a standing start or going uphill. In common with many of these W124 running issues many parts have been replaced but failed to give a long term...
Hi everyone, any body know what the best port of call is for replacement pistons/rings for this engine? Been to the dealers, they have been in contact with technical and say that neither the original pistons at 91mm or repair pistons at 91.5mm are available. I gave them the part nos which seemed...
I've just done an oil change on my W124 E320 and noticed that the new oil filter was a different design to the one I removed. The old filter was a Mann and was open at both ends, the new one is a UFI which fits perfectly but the top of it is closed off with a metal cover. I've double checked the...

Can anyone offer advice on the problem I have with my W124 M104 6 cylinder engine?
From cold, the engine starts first time without problems but just for 2 or 3 seconds or so before the engine shakes as if it is not running on all cylinders.
If I keep my foot on the accelerator (1,000 to...
The original setup for W114 (250 CE) uses one fuel pump.
In a W124 E320 the fuel is supplied by two fuel pumps.
Is it absolute necessary to install this setup in my swap or can I use the existing one that is bolted on to the chassis already?
Is there somewhere to be found a table of tightening torques for this engine?
Need to know torques for the exhaust manifold engineering studs and copper lock nuts. Also for valve cover bolts. Thanks.
Sorry, could not master the search...:(
I want to remove the air pump in my swap and was wondering if it is as simple as plugging the hole in the head after removing the pump and the hose? Or does the removal have negative effects on the engine performance? Thanks.
To free some space in my M104 (E320) swap -> W114 Coupe I'm considering an electric WP. Does anybody have experience in this?
Do you have any recommendations of a suitable/fairly priced electric WP for street use? Preferably radiator mount. Thanks.
I need to move the filter to make some more space on the intake side. Anybody with a clever idea what would the set-up look like and what is needed? Thanks.
I am having some problems with my W124 320 Coupe engine wiring and cannot go to a new loom, does anyone have a usable engine loom please?
Thanks
Jeremy
Hi , Having problems on a 95 e320. Engine cranks but no fuel.
I dont think the fuel pump is working as its not making noise.
I have only tried swapping out the FPR and OVP but this did not get it working again. I can feel the OVP relay click but am not to sure about the Fuel pump relay...
Hello everyone, recently i bought a 91' japan spec w124 300 ce 24 with the 5 speed automatic transmission, it has a few problems most important were no 5th gear & the gas pumps were almost not working.
The engine runs very smoothly but when you accelerate it tries to stall & then it goes very...
alright,
The C280 W202 needs a replacement water pump - is it possible D.I.Y with no ramps or anything with limited experience or is it a garage only pig of a job ? Also is there a replacement gasket or is it just a change the whole unit job ?
cheers
Brett
alright good peoples,
So ive got a 1995 C280 M104 coming and the long term plan will be to dump the engine and transplant either a 3.2 M104 or 3.6 M104
But ive heard that the early engines are Non Fly By Wire and Later engines are fly by wire.
So what does this mean conversion wise as I...
So got my sights on a nice cheap W202 C280 M104 and its got dead high mileage and I was thinking of instead of changing the head gasket just bunging in a lower mileage M104 3.2 - is it a straight swap like the ole M103's or is there much more involved. I know the 300 24v is different but whats...
