I'm trying to lower the compression on my E320, M104 engine prior to turbo charging. Does anyone know the part numbers for different thickness headgaskets? As I understand it thicker ones were used for some markets that had crappy fuel. A thicker gasket would be ideal for turboing.

I've recently bought a very nice W124 E280 estate to augment my 200. It's a 100,000 mile 1996 car, 2 owners, fsh, leather and aircon. It was delivered to the dealer in November 1995. I am fully aware of the potential head gasket and engine loom problems with these, but what I'd like to know is...

Might be of use to someone here, looks like the coil packs are included too.
I have two M104 engines both 1995, one is a 2.8 and one is a 3.2.
I’m looking at up-rating to 3.6 spec.
I’ve been trawling through the parts listing on the internet from different sources and as far as I can see all of the top end and the fuel system is identical for all 3 engines.

The revs when in idle initally surge from 500-1500rpm, and settle down after 30 seconds and will then only be between 500-700rpm. This is with a brand new MAS, prior to changing it the problem was not as bad, it did not surge so high initially but the problem was still present.
I very much...
I know that changing the headgaskets is the best solution but is it possible to just tighten the bolts in the correct order by say 1/8 th of a turn ?
M104's tend to leak (to atmosphere only) on the rear right and the M111 at the front right in the timing chain area. The coolent is not normally...

I wonder what these cars are like, the chassis is W124 and they still have the single arm wiper.

I need to find out what all the vacuum lines are coming from the inlet manifold
because I'm fitting a supercharger.
There are 6 vacuum lines I can see:
1. small pipe to the fuel pressure regulator
2. small pipe to the MOT valve (what is this?)
3. larger pipe to the brake servo
4. small...
