I'm sorry if I'm opening an old debate about what engine oil is better,but to me isnt clear.Currently I'm using mobil 1 5w-40 and I'm thinking of replacing it with Mobil 1 ESP 5w-30.Is it a good idea? The car we are talking about is W203 2001 220 cdi with 170000 miles on the clock.

Is there another synthetic 0W40 I can use in an E55 other than Mobil 1? I don't think Mobil 1 is available here in Jersey (unless maybe I buy from dealer) - so was wondering if it is acceptable to use another synthetic 0W40 oil?? If not I guess I can order on line, but was hoping to aviod...

Hi i purchased 10L of mobil 1 0/40 for my c63 and halfords were happy to price match the costco price - might be handy to know for members here.

I recently topped up my oil using mobil 0w - 40 previously my car contained shell helix ultra 5w40 now the car feels heavier any reason for this.

Shell wins. Had my car back for a week from the dealer service where Mobil 1 229.5 was used and the car is noticably more gruff. Still acceptable but next change, I am tempted to bring Shell Helix along as its better.

About to purchase some oil for my C32 AMG in case it ever needs any between services (My M5 certainly did!). Will probably also supply it to the dealers for services. Where do you get your from? Halfords seems the least painless way unless you know better :D Andy
