Hello all.
So, my SL.... Doesnt seem to like going over bumps / potholes / undulations in the road. Doesnt feel very merc like or smooth when it does.
It's an E reg, 300SL and it's done about 84k.
I dont know if it is the shock absorbers that are past their best, or the suspension top...
Hey guys, when I bought my car it was probably sitting on a farm for a little while. I've gotten my suspension checked out and everything seems in check and replaced a few parts.
I've still got a harsh ride, and recently done a wheel alignment. About 60g and 50g were put on the rear tyres...
Has anyone on here successfully softened the ride on a w204 sport ? I tried an Elegance spec and found it too soft an vague so bought C350 sport but it is so very hard and uncomfortable I don’t know that I can live with it long term. Thing is the handling and turn in is not that sharp even...
I've now owned my C55 AMG for about a month and am absolutely loving it. Its amazing to drive and can't fault it...........however, the ride is quite firm. If I run over a drain cover or slight bump in the road the car won't just role over it smoothly like I was expecting a Mercedes to do so...
Hello to all
My name is DJ and I just purchased a 2006 E350, love it so far had a tad bit of work done to it already:crazy:......
I have had my baptizing at the dealer and what a baptizing it was. Just got the car and had to change cam cover gaskets, had to get new brakes, and now it seems...
Today I went for my birthday present, a fifteen minute ride in a C63 driven around their track by an MB World Stig.
We started on the short track which showed just how much grip there is available. We then went onto the long track, with plenty of 'express train in the back' acceleration and...
My Missus has Arthritis in her spine and doesnt like a firm ride.
If I set the ride height to normal, its a bit too firm for her, its not bad but we have just changed from a Lexus LS430 which went down the road like a boat.
But if I set the ride to he middle setting, she likes it because its a...
The only thing really bugging me at present (minor suspension groans aside and soon to be sorted) is the very poor and hard ride.
I regularly drive over the New Foret and country roads and whilst on well surfaced A roads and motorways it is acceptable the ride comfort on other typical B...
Hi people, Ive just had all of the rear of my car rebuilt which is good but the ride height seems huge now at the rear. Can anyone tell me the correct height and how do I adjust it ??
Oh dear:eek::crazy:
The thing that gets me is the fact that this must have cost a fortune to produce.
But why would you waste so much cash to create such a horrific thing?:dk:
Hi All,
I need some new tyres. I have 15" wheels with 195/50 tyres.
As we all know the A class ride is a little rough over the bumps...
Has anyone fitted oversize tyres to their A Class in an attempt to improve the ride?
any comments / advise please? Am i mad to attempt it?
Thanks All...
I have just returned to the MB world after a short spell with a smaller, more "sensible" 4 cylinder car and treated myself to a 2001 E430 Tourer as my daily driver.
Fortunately I don't do too many miles so I can spend the initial outlay saving, over a smaller or diesel engined version, on fuel...
Directed a photoshoot today and was collected at the train station in an E500 (2004) estate. My first time in this car, was very impressed. Very solid feel, smooth ride and gave a great 'feel good' factor too.
Compliments to those who own one! :thumb:
Hi All
Could anyone shed a little light on the ride heights on an E55 AMG?
Mine is a 2004 estate which I always tend to drive in standard COMFORT ride mode and occasionally use the RAISED setting for speed bumps and rough track roads etc. But I also thought that if the SPORT mode was...
Like so many of a certain age, I have for some time been more interested in ride quality than out-and-out performance.
I thought I may have found it with an ML, but although this was an excellent cruiser I could still feel more bumps than I'd like on ordinary roads.
So now I am in a C350 Estate...
Don't know if it has been posted before, but there is an interesing car in a thread on Pistonheads:
"It's a 1961 190SL called "Mercedes-Bent", and it's got all the undercrackers of a 2004 SL600 Bi-Turbo in it ....tuned by Renntech. It won Best of Show at SEMA in the States this year."...
