Has anyone retrofitted the above to a w211 and if so how hard was it?

I have a pair of new gas rams for the W124 estate. MB part number A1247700225 £40 the pair. No longer available from your dealer.

I am now the proud owner of new struts, the existing ones having gone a bit weak 'n feeble. Covered by Service Plus so what do I care, other than to wonder if this is this a common problem on the S211 Estate?

Hi, The tailgate on my estate is beginning to not hold very well in the open position. Is there any way of improving this again? Are they gas struts? Thanks Toby
